Mama Africa is developing a solar umbrella with water collection (SWU) for Africa.
We are looking for participation partners for this sustainability project especially in the fields of:
- Electronics (measurement technology, control technology, robotics)
- battery technology
- Plumbing, welding
- nanocoatings
- solar technology
- wind energy (small wind turbines)
Who is interested in investing and working with us in the development of an innovative and sustainable product, not only for the African market, but for the world market?
The umbrella, which is designed to be folded out so that it can be retracted in the event of violent winds and is equipped with water-repellent solar cells on its surface. The rainwater is filtered and collected in a ground tank. By means of a pump, driven by the (also retractable) windmill on top, the rainwater can be taken from the ground tank as service water.
The development is taking place in Nairobi, Kenya. The lead company is Mama Africa Invest, the investment fund of Mama Africa. The development is to reach small-scale production and prepare for later production in Kenya. A second location for sales is to be established in Mombasa after the small series to also enable exports to non-African countries.
The project manager is the economist and natural scientist and founder of Mama Africa, Dipl.biol.univ. Stephan Rollfinke; certified quality manager, project manager, knowledge manager and process manager with additional training in modern management and experience in accounting and as an SAP trainer.
Mama Africa brings the design know-how of the targeted construction and initial plans, as well as its own expertise in 3D design and 3D printing and an existing network in Kenya. A joint company is to be established in Kenya, or the EU, which will then also hold the worldwide patent rights. In any case, the work is to be carried out in Kenya to create qualified jobs there, which should also help to reduce migration to the EU. In addition to Africa, another construction site is to be established in China.
